Free as the Beaver: The Liberalization of Cuba

Cuba is an Island in the West Indies. Fidel Castro was one of the presidents of Cuba. His last name Castro reminds me of the word castor which means beaver in French. The beaver is an animal which you find in Canada, which can swim because of its tail. Castor is also the name that Jean Paul Sartre gave to his wife Simone de Beauvoir who wrote a book on the education of young girls. Therefore, the message of Fidel Castro is clear. It means that we have to take care of ourselves. Cuba is rich in the production of sugar cane. Cuba could have been the Switzerland of the West Indies.
