A Reward for Merit

There are societies which do not admit merit. It is very important to reward those who contibute to society. We even hear about the word meritocracy which is pejorative as bureaucracy. The French Revolution abolished privileges which were also based on merit. Therefore, the royals can no longer rule in France.
